Today I ran a game between the Commodore 64 playing Battle Chess as white against a mordern engine called Sjeng. According to the rules that I have made for myself the Battle Chess ran in novice level as it is the first game it is being played, and initial ELO set for 1500. Sjeng will was set for 1 min for the entire game, and as an ELO rating of 1964 based on the leaderboard I have created.
Battle Chess was developed in 1989 by Interplay Productions. Sjeng 12, the version used for this game, was released in 2002 and created by Gian-Carlo Pascutto. Here is the game they played.
